Interesting concept. I like your usage of color, and the construction of the scene from foreground to the robot is well done. The robot head as a crop was a bit deceiving, though; I felt like the scene itself should have been more epic, with more going on then just a character sitting down. Is he some kind of King of Steam? I guess the main reason I would rate it a three is mainly that the piece itself is not very detailed and relatively stale. A slouching robot on a throne, with the steam not being too realistically portrayed; the pipes not having a correct perspective, and a fading background with an unidentifiable piece; I feel like this entire scene could have been portrayed better. The best part of the painting would be the three cogs around the robot, as they give importance and their angling is really well done. The text Meatloaf is a bit distracting, it would have been better if there was either no text or lots of text, but just one piece of text I feel takes away from the piece. If the robot was the centerpiece (I'm guessing you intended it to be), then there should have been much more detail on the robot, especially on the face. I feel that a bit of tidying up on the lines in general would have aided the piece stand out greatly. The actual set-up is a bit odd; I can't tell if the robot itself is sad or not, as the slouch isn't exaggerated enough to be truly identifiable, but at the same time if you weren't going for that it's an odd position to have put him in. Still I appreciate the effort that was put into this; the main challenge I feel was overcome, as the construction of the piece works. If this was more about a depressed robot king, then I feel a silhouette side-view would have been best, but otherwise this was well done. I hope this review was helpful!

I'll try and be as constructive as possible. The overall design is well done, I like the crescent silhouette this makes, and the facial expression conveys a good mood. The main problem I see is the proportion of the chin to the rest of the face, as well as the unevenness of the eyes. It becomes hard to tell if she is looking with her face cocked to the side or not, and although I know she is completely facing the viewer, the chin and unevenness makes it seem that way. It tends to help to reverse the image with a mirror or flipping the page if you want to see whether things look even. Great job nonetheless!

Hey, thanks for the tips! I did this last year ago and noticed the same thing. I should really mirror any future works to avoid awkward proportions. Thanks again, I appreciate it :)
